Peddra's meter runs on your Mac and sends nothing anywhere. Support never asks for your chats, your code, or your numbers: the meter has no server and keeps no copy of them to see.
Is it safe to let Peddra read my chats?
Peddra reads the transcript files Claude Code already writes to your disk, prices them, and does its reading on your Mac. The app makes one network call on its own: the license check, once when you activate and then automatically at every launch after. There is no server that sees your work, no account, and no analytics. The app itself ships signed and notarized by Apple, so macOS has checked what you're installing. The privacy policy is short enough to actually read, and it lists every network call the app can ever make.
I'm on a Claude subscription (Pro or Max), not API billing. Does Peddra still matter?
Yes. On a subscription, wasted tokens spend your limits: the 5-hour window and the weekly cap, and Peddra shows you the waste in tokens, your plan's own unit. On API billing, Peddra shows the same waste in dollars, labeled at list rates.
I'm on Pro or Max. My bill is flat. What does Peddra actually do for me?
On Pro or Max, your bill doesn't shrink. It can't. It's flat. What runs out is your week. Peddra keeps reruns and dead chats from eating it, so you hit your limits later, or not at all. More week, same bill.
Do I need Apple Intelligence?
No. With Apple Intelligence, your Mac does the background reading itself, for 0 tokens. Without it, Peddra doesn't read in the background at all: the meter still works in full, and when you want a chat condensed you press the button and Peddra runs it through your own Claude account, on the model you chose in settings (the smallest capable one by default; you can pin any model, or set your cloud model to none and nothing is ever sent, period). No click, no send. The ledger counts every token either way.
Does Peddra change or slow down Claude Code?
No. Peddra is not a proxy and not a plugin. Claude Code talks to Anthropic exactly as before; Peddra rides beside it and reads what it writes to disk.
Will this affect my Anthropic account?
Peddra never sits between you and Anthropic and never touches your API key or your login. The only thing that ever talks to Anthropic is Claude Code itself, on your machine, under your own account. The finish faster button runs one ordinary Claude Code command, visibly, and only when you press it. From Anthropic's side there is nothing to see except Claude Code being used the way it always is.
What happens when a Claude Code update changes things?
Keeping up is our job, not yours. Anthropic ships Claude Code updates constantly, and some of them change the files Peddra reads. We run a watcher that reads Claude Code's release notes every morning and flags anything touching how Peddra reads or prices your chats, so a format change becomes our work item before it becomes your bug. If one ever slips through anyway, report it and a human answers.
What happens when the trial ends?
Your free week starts the first time you open the desk, not the day you install. After that, the full app is $19.99 a month or $199 a year, and the price you start at is the price you keep. If you don't buy, the free meter keeps working, free forever, and everything Peddra learned stays on your Mac.
How is Peddra different from usage meters?
Meters tell you what you spent. Peddra also does something about it: it reads the chat as you work and writes the prompt that starts the next one, so resuming never costs the full re-read. The ledger then shows what that saved, every token counted once.
How do refunds and cancellation work?
Purchases run through Stripe's Managed Payments, where the merchant of record is Sold through Link. Cancel any time from the link in your purchase receipt, or email contact@peddra.com and we'll cancel it for you. If something's wrong, email us and we'll make it right or tell you plainly why not.
What will my card statement say?
LINK.COM* MALTBY VENTU. That's us: Peddra is made by Maltby Ventures LLC, and Link is Stripe's checkout. If you see that line and don't remember why, email us before your bank; we answer faster.
Where does my license key come from?
After you buy, the key is emailed to you from keyforge.dev, our licensing provider. That email is real. Paste the key into Peddra's settings and you're done.
How many Macs can I use?
Three at a time. You can sign a Mac out in settings to free a slot; do it while that Mac is online so the slot actually frees.
Does Pro need internet?
Only barely. It checks its license when the app launches, and can run offline for up to 14 days before it needs to see the internet again to stay unlocked. The meter itself never needs a connection at all.
Will Peddra drain my battery?
No. Peddra uses your Mac's own AI. It runs on battery too; plugged in is best.
What happens to my data if I cancel?
Nothing has to happen, because nothing of yours was ever anywhere else. Your chats, your code, and your numbers were always on your Mac. If you want the purchase records (your email and license key) deleted too, email contact@peddra.com and we'll delete them from our Stripe and Keyforge accounts and confirm when it's done.
You're three people. What happens if Peddra shuts down?
The free meter is built to outlive us: it makes no network call of any kind, so nothing about us disappearing can turn it off. For the full app, the promise is written here: if Maltby Ventures ever winds Peddra down, the last release removes the license check, so the app you paid for keeps working without us. And your data was never anywhere but your Mac, so there is nothing to migrate and nothing to lose.
